Justico

Today was one of those days at the office that just kept hitting us in places weʻve never been hit before.  It was a really fun day filled with lots of interesting things to do which unfortunately did not always equate in ample time to prepare for presentations.  One huge highlight of the day was lunchtime.

For the first time, we had lunch with the South Americans who came to Ehime.  I think weʻll probably be having lunch with them quite often, and if all lunches are as fun as this...who know what we are in for.  Today, at lunch we spoke in about 5 different languages.  Japanese, then there was a lot of Spanish between a co-worker and our friend from Peru, then the two Brazilians were speaking some in Portuguese and Japanese, and I was (as usual) speaking English. 　There were also some demonstrations of Chinese thrown in which made things all the more complicated.  

Anyway, my funny story is that while we were trying to explain a word in Japanese that meant something like, "non-biased" we kept trying to translate it into all the different languages.  It turns out that a "judge" was a good example in Japanese, and we were trying to say what that was in Spanish so I immediately got my brain working and came up with...

"Justico" like, "Justice" which was very ignorant of me.

But, also very funny.  Coincidentally, justico is a real word.  Look it up.
